Reference Design Introduction
Golioth builds reference designs to help showcase aspects of the Golioth platform and to make it easier for users to create their own designs.
"Reference Design" Definition
A "Reference Design" is a set of files, part lists, example code, configuration information, and explanatory documents to build an Internet of Things (IoT) deployment. All Reference Designs are built to work with Golioth and no efforts will be made to modify these designs for 3rd party platforms.
How to use Reference Designs
Reference Designs are not purchaseable, nor should they be deployed as-is to the field.
Instead, we expect Reference Designs to be a starting point for companies to build their own IoT projects. If you are unsure how to implement a particular aspect of a Reference Design because you are non-technical, we suggest you talk to a Development Shop and point them at a Reference Design as a good starting point for their designs. Depending on where you are in your product lifecycle, this may result in the Development Shop replicating the Reference Design as a Proof-of-Concept (PoC), or they may take the general ideas contained within the Reference Design and create custom hardware, firmware, and software.
As-is Delivery
All Reference Designs are delivered "as-is" and should be considered as reference-only. No guarantees are made to the effectiveness of these designs in a production context.
